Glasgow AI Readiness Programme

Ready for AI? Let's find out.

A free programme for Glasgow's community organisations, charities and social enterprises. Start with a fifteen-minute assessment that shows where your whole team stands with AI. Then get the support from CEIS to use it safely, responsibly and with purpose.

Free to take part. Organisations that complete the assessment get first access to workshops and cohorts in 2027. Places will be limited.

Led by CEIS in partnership with SocietalQ.

Hello, I'm Q. Fifteen minutes will tell you where your team stands.
Why now

AI is already in the building

Someone on your team uses a free AI tool most days. They're confident with it. Nobody has asked what they put in, or how much of what comes out gets checked. Someone else has decided it's not for them. A trustee has asked for the policy, and there isn't one.

That's how AI arrives in most workplaces: before anyone decides, one person at a time.

You can't set direction for what you can't see. So we start by making it visible. Find out what your staff and volunteers know, what they use and what worries them. Then decide together where AI helps your work, and where it stays out.

The programme

One programme, three steps

Everyone joins at step one. Where you go from there depends on what you find.

1Open now

Assess

Take the AI Readiness Assessment with your team. Fifteen minutes each. Every person gets a personal report with recommendations matched to their answers. You get the picture across the whole organisation.

2Free now

Learn

Seven short guides cover the essentials, from what AI is to how to keep people's data safe and run a first experiment without putting the organisation at risk.

3From early 2027

Build

We'll add workshops, learning sessions and cohorts, designed around what Glasgow's assessments show. Places will be limited. Organisations that have completed the assessment will hear from us first.

Step one

See your organisation clearly

The AI Readiness Compass asks each person 27 questions across three areas to see where they stand with AI and how it fits with their work, to produce a personalised, practical guide on what to try next.

How it works

  1. 1

One person leads. Register your organisation and take the assessment first.

  2. 2

Invite your people. Staff and volunteers each get a private link.

  3. 3

Everyone gets a personal report with recommendations matched to their answers.

  4. 4

Five completions open the dashboard. You see the patterns across your team.

  5. 5

Decide what to do next. A conversation, a policy, a first experiment, or the 2027 programme.

200+tools, tips and templates

What each person gets

A personal report written for their situation. It shows what stood out in their answers and sets out practical moves for now, the next three months and the year ahead. Every recommendation is matched to their results from a library of more than 200 tools, tips and templates.

What the organisation gets

A dashboard showing where confidence is high and where it's missing, what people already use, and what the organisation needs to put in place. You see patterns across the team, never anyone's individual answers.

Privacy. Each person's answers are private to them. Leaders see patterns, never individual responses. The optional background questions never reach the organisation in any form.

Step three

Support shaped by what Glasgow finds

From early 2027 we'll add workshops, learning sessions and cohorts for Glasgow organisations. We'll design them around the assessments: the questions leaders keep asking, the skills people want, and the safeguards that keep going missing.

Expect a mix, from short introductions for teams starting from nothing to deeper work with organisations ready to put AI to use.

Places will be limited. Organisations that have completed the assessment will be the first to hear from us about dates, and the first to get a place.

Who it's for

Glasgow's third sector, whatever your starting point

Community organisations, charities and social enterprises based in Glasgow. Free, funded by Glasgow City Council through the Glasgow Communities Fund.

You need no experience of AI. The programme is for the team that uses it every day, the team that hasn't started, and the team still arguing about whether it should.

It works best when several people take part, volunteers included. Five completions open your organisation's dashboard.

FAQs

More about the assessment

Who can take part? +
Any community organisation, charity or social enterprise based in Glasgow. There's no cost, no minimum size and no need for any AI experience.
Who should lead it for us? +
Whoever can invite colleagues and act on the results. Often the chief executive or a manager. Sometimes the person who's been experimenting on their own and has the backing to take it further.
How long does it take? +
About fifteen minutes per person. Registering your organisation takes a few minutes more. Most teams finish within a fortnight.
What does each person get? +
A personal report with their profile, what stood out in their answers, and recommendations matched to their results, drawn from more than 200 tools, tips and templates. It's theirs to keep and act on.
What do I get as the lead? +
Once five people have completed the assessment, a dashboard showing confidence, current use, concerns and gaps across the team, with recommendations for the organisation.
Can I see what individual colleagues said? +
No. You see patterns across the team. Individual answers stay with the individual, and the optional background questions never reach you in any form.
What if fewer than five people take part? +
Everyone who takes part still gets their personal report. The dashboard opens at five.
What happens after the assessment? +
Read the guides, work through your recommendations, and look out for the 2027 programme. Organisations that have completed the assessment will be first to hear from us about places.
Can we repeat it later? +
Yes. Come back after a few months to see what has changed.
We're outside Glasgow. Can we take part? +
This programme is for Glasgow organisations. Email us at AIreadiness@ceis.org.uk and we'll tell you about future opportunities.

Fifteen minutes. Then you'll know.

Take the assessment, invite your team, and be first in line when the 2027 programme opens.
